Dear Team Sago Mini,
Below is my attempt to get your attention and to show why I am a good fit for the User Research position. I was a teacher before for 5 years and I was a Team Lead of Curriculum Development for 2 years, with my experience coming from Vietnam and Ireland.
I decided to leave teaching as I felt I wasn't reaching my potential. My dream is to create an educational product that leaves a lasting impression on learners and their parents, and I can see that you have this same mission. I've always been creative but I've struggled to get it onto paper. When I came across the discipline of Product Design Research two years ago, I knew this was the avenue I want to explore.
I want to analyse the fun and engaging moments of learning and turn them into a product that makes a difference.
Step 1
Circa August 2025 - I connected with Adrianna..

Step 2
January 2026 - I tried reaching out a couple of times in regards to positions I saw, which I knew was a shot in the dark, but worth the risk.

Step 3
2nd of March 2026 - I saw the User Research position and got excited and then applied..

But then my trauma of all the past applications flooded back to me and I went to check out the popularity of the position.

Step 4
3rd of March 2026 - I decided to take more initiative and show why I truly want this job. I did more research on the Sago Mini products. I checked Youtube, Reddit, Google reviews and the app store.

I was impressed by the games and even more so impressed with the reviews. Parents clearly like your product and appreciate the love which goes into their development. I was left with a difficult task.. How could I bring value to the Sago Mini team?
Step 5
3rd of March 2026 - I looked more closely at the learning styles offered by you. I can see that you have covered most ways that a student could potentially learn, ranging from Toca Boca Jr to Sago Mini World.

Step 6
3rd of March 2026 - I started drafting some ideas with the encouragement of my cat.

I came up with an idea.. Thanks Lilly!
Step 7
March 3rd 2026 - I came up with the idea of incorporating learners' sketches into puzzles..
Step 1 of activity
Learners will watch a real time drawing and attempt to guess what it is before the drawing is complete.
Tip: If a learner cannot read the word, they can click the speaker icon to hear it aloud.

Step 2 of activity
Learners will practice their sketching by copying what was drawn previously..

Step 3 of activity
Learners will watch random objects fall from the sky and attempt to identify how many eggs the cat laid.

Step 4 of activity
Learners will discover the answer to the puzzle.

Conclusion
I think the idea of embedding learners' sketches into their digital learning is solid as it will help to engage them more.
I'm well aware that this mini case study is far from polished but creativity loves speed. I have many ideas for better puzzles. I just picked a simple one to help get the concept across.
Considering I started this at 9am on March 3rd and got it finished by 12:30pm on the same day, it's not too bad. I hope it shows to you that I'm enthusiastic to get an opportunity with you.
P.S. I’m not a crazy cat guy — my cat insisted (at claw point) that she be the star of this mini case study.
Next step - March 4th 2026
Deliver this mini case study to your office.

Very handy - you have a Bike Share Station right beside you.
